Turning real-time data into real cost savings
PUMA’s lack of real-time local stock data on its e-commerce site and mobile app led to missed upsell opportunities and basket abandonment. PUMA sought to enhance its customer experience by offering a “click-and-collect” option without requiring a costly (£Ms) replacement of its existing Point of Sale (POS) systems.
We deployed Apigee as a front door to query location and Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) information, creating a centralised API gateway for seamless integration between PUMA's PoS systems and cloud-based e-commerce and mobile applications.
This integration resulted in an enhanced customer experience, streamlined data flow, and a scalable API infrastructure to handle increasing traffic, ultimately enabling PUMA to offer the desired click-and-collect service and evolve its API infrastructure.
