Challenge

Travis Perkins' data sat scattered across disconnected systems, making it slow and difficult for teams to build a reliable, shared view of the business. Reporting depended on manual pulls from multiple sources, insight lagged behind the decisions it was meant to inform, and there was no self-serve way for teams to explore data themselves — every question meant a request to a central team and a wait for an answer.

Solution

We built a GCP-native data platform on BigQuery, consolidating fragmented sources into a single, governed foundation, with Looker delivering self-serve, drill-down dashboards directly to the teams who needed them. Rather than a one-off reporting fix, the platform was built with data quality and access control designed in from the start, so it could keep expanding as new use cases and teams came on board.

Outcomes

The platform unlocked £1m in net-new revenue by giving teams the speed and confidence to act on data directly, rather than waiting on manual reporting cycles. Self-serve access meant decisions that used to take days could be made in the moment, and the governed foundation it was built on has since supported further data and analytics work across the business.
